Escríbale a la Junta de BVSD →This plan does so little to meet the original stated objectives while costing so much that the students it effects will see no benefit from it during the final years of their elementary school run, yet they and their families will shoulder the entire burden of all it’s upheaval. Not only does it barely move the needle, there is no plan on how or when the next phase will be implemented or if it will again hit the same children. There are so many holes and unanswered questions in this so called plan and such a lack of transparency that BVSD really needs to shelve this until they are willing and able to provide a complete and transparent roadmap of how they intend to achieve their goals before damaging the learning environment of our children, the trust of Boulder residents, and the future of their own reputation. If this goes through in its current form, the damage will be long lasting, not only effecting the children and their families, but also the future desirability of Boulder to attract new families. Gone will be walkable schools, family neighborhoods, and future awards that BVSD seems so proud of winning. I understand enrollment has gone down, but this “we’ve got to do something at any cost” mentality is not a good short term answer.
