As a former Boulder Valley teacher for decades, I recognize the value of a beloved neighborhood school and have known students from Flatirons who loved and felt challenged and valued in the environment of the Flatirons community. What is the benefit from eliminating an environment that is proven to be successful for children to learn and to thrive? In addition, increased class sizes caused by closing schools will decrease the quality of education for all students impacted.
