Having a neighborhood school keeps young families in the neighborhood and continues to attract more. This keeps the demographic diverse and vibrant, helping to preclude this "real" neighborhood from becoming yet another Hill, where CU students push out families, empty nesters, and seniors. Let's keep Boulder as a whole "real" by keeping individual neighborhoods diverse. An elementary school with parents walking young kids every day adds a vibrancy and wholesomeness that you don't get any other way.
