I am concerned these closures are happening too quickly, with little consideration for how they will affect neighborhoods and families long-term. A simple internet search yields several studies showing that school closures don't necessarily save money and that the disruption and change can have negative consequences that many districts cannot recover from. I am not only a parent to a BVSD student but also work in real estate. Families move to Boulder for the choice and open enrollment. Change is hard, and something needs to happen, but I wish the district would pause and reconsider some of these drastic changes.
