I fully understand the need to be efficient in the distribution of resources, but in my opinion the proposed plan does not seem to result in sufficient cost savings to justify this neighborhood upheaval. Additionally, it does not seem that the receiving school, Bear Creek, has sufficient physical space to accommodate this proposed influx of Mesa students. I envision this leading to overcrowding, unsuitable temporary classroom space (and/or disruption due to construction), and a significant decrease in teacher, admin, and student morale. I project that this will become evident sooner rather than later and eventually need to be rectified at even greater financial cost, while negatively impacting several years of student cohorts in the meantime. For these reasons, I do not support this plan’s implementation as proposed.
