Write to the Board →My family recently moved from Wash Park to Fairview Estates, and a major factor in our decision was the opportunity for our son to eventually attend Douglass Elementary. We were drawn to both the school's reputation and its close proximity to our home. We are not alone. Many young families have moved to Fairview and nearby neighborhoods because of the strong sense of community and the educational opportunities Douglass provides. Closing the school would be devastating for current and future families and would undermine one of the area's greatest strengths. Please reconsider this proposal and keep Douglass Elementary open. Thank you.
