I work in public education and have had to close the original elementary school in my district. It was sad and no one wanted it, but unfortunately it truly did make sense on all metrics. This does not make sense. A beloved elementary should not be closed suddenly without careful research and all possible avenues for remaining open being investigated thoroughly. Times are hard for public education. Stay strong Douglas Elementary!
