BVSD has proposed a plan that: 1. Does not achieve measurable long term goals towards it’s stated goals of declining enrollment or underutilization. 2. Provides no justification, data, or impact studies to support the shuffling of thousands of students 3. Is a partial proposal that guarantees more closures are coming to neighborhood, dual language, and 6-12 schools. The families with ability/access will leave BVSD in favor of stability offered by homeschooling, private schools, or other districts. Enrollment will plummet districtwide. 4. Fully dissolves accountability by setting precedent for district admin to justify future closures using arbitrary metrics that change school by school with a board this will kingly approve closures without listening to the communities they were elected represent.
