Parents, neighbors, alumni and kids across the district asked BVSD to vote no on its school-closure plan. BVSD approved it 5–2 on September 22. Here’s one voice:

The data varies on whether closures are necessary. We deserve to know what nonclosure related ideas were considered prior to uprooting our children as the solution. And when those ideas were discarded, we are owed a plan that fully addresses their goals and gives us faith that BVSD knows what it’s doing with the next 10-15 years of our children’s lives. Like my 9 year old said, “is this the best plan for us or just the easy plan for them?”
