Changing Monarch PK-8 to a middle-only school could disrupt the fragile supports set in place for the RISE students who have attended the school since the beginning of their schooling. Many special education parents like myself chose Monarch not just for the RISE program but for the continuation of support from known in-school teams through the elementary to middle school transition. This could throw a lot of kids and their families into chaos and an unknown future.
