As a Mesa parent, I have been concerned about the open classrooms in the Bear Creek building, particularly because of the impact they can have on our neurodivergent students. Now that consolidation is planned, including AIM and RISE, it seems clear that the Bear Creek building will become an even more crowded and potentially louder environment. In that context, the challenges of open classrooms may become even more significant for our students. Can the district commit to modifying the Bear Creek building so that all classrooms are enclosed with walls and doors before the consolidated programs begin in fall 2027?
