Childrens education is one of the most important parts of society. As the parent of three children, I do not believe this proposal will improve education. In my children’s case, it will drive their classes to be larger and their quality of education to be lower. My family specifically bought our home in order to have access to the schools around it. BVSD is proposing to close not one, but two of those schools. The evidence I have read does not suggest that this is a wise proposal. Well changes are necessary, this proposal will cause widespread harm to children across the various cities within our school district will not actually accomplishing, but we need to to become a sustainable school district long-term. I strongly urge the board to vote no and to breathe begin the process of planning, including looking at the multi year, long-term planning process that many principles were already involved in. Additionally, any consideration of schools in our district must also consider preschools. My youngest child has been in a BVSD preschool, and it has been a wonderful Experience.
