Stick with your fight to keep neighborhood schools. The first job in the schools was at a school they were contemplating closing for years. I got the job and I took them 6 yrs to close because of community push back. The district did not save a lot of money. All teachers just got moved around and kept their jobs and kids were assimilated into other schools.
