Parents, neighbors, alumni and kids across the district asked BVSD to vote no on its school-closure plan. BVSD approved it 5–2 on September 22. Here’s one voice:

We have supported Douglas elementary before during and after our own child attended. We supported a tax increase to completely rebuild the school after our own daughter was out of elementary school. Why? To support the local community public school and future students. It is unacceptable that the district would try to make such a change without proper community involvement and discussion. You have damaged the trust we had with the district. Vote No.
